I’m Scott Starks, professional golf club fitter and clubmaker doing business as FORE Golf Custom Clubs, operating in Madison, Wisconsin. I’ve been in the custom golf club fitting and club making business since 1991. My professional education includes the Clubmaker and Advanced Clubmaker training schools at Golfsmith in San Antonio, TX when the Paul Bros. owned Golfsmith in the early 90’s. I’m a past member of the Professional Clubmaker Society and a certified MoI fitter and clubmaker and True Length Technology fitter and clubmaker.
My start in golf began as a caddie in the Milwaukee area and learned the essentials of golf from Manuel de la Torre, who was selected as PGA National Teacher of the Year in 1968.
My golf fitting assessments are always done outside in the natural golfing environment, on grass at a golf course. While I use launch monitor data, I think it important to see the customer’s swing in the natural environment and see the flight and behavior of the ball in that environment. My custom fitting is always based on the customer’s uniqueness.
